Looking for a Christmas calendar for kids filled with Bible verses?
Iâm delighted to be part of the 24 Days to A Christ-Centered Christmas Blog Party. My name is Anu and Iâm the owner of an educational website called Growing Curious Minds.
Christmas is a magical time of the year.
The scent of pine trees and wood burning fill the air. The feel of brisk cold air awakens your senses. Colorful lights brighten up city trees and homes are filled with the sound of festivities. Streets and shops bustle with Christmas carolers and shoppers. Children filled with excitement, anticipate a white Christmas. Ah, the joyous time of Christmas.
Growing up, my family never celebrated Christmas. We didnât have a Christmas tree or receive any presents. My dad was strict about reminding us that Christmas is about Jesus and not about ourselves. We usually had a special family dinner and a long prayer/devotion time at night. At that time, I felt sad that we did not celebrate Christmas but as I grew older I started to understand more about the true meaning of Christmas.
Now that I have a family of my own, I do adorn my home with bright decorations and garlands. My kidsâ faces light up when they see the house decorated every year. And as parents, we love seeing their bursts of excitement and joy. They love the special family gathering and all the celebrations.
Christmas is a season to be celebrated and to focus on the incarnation of Christ. I want to celebrate the joyous occasion by reminding my children of the real significance of Christmas.
Our Christmas Calendar
Last year for Advent, I created a fun Christmas calendar with activities for the kids. Now that they are a little older and able to grasp more, I thought about focusing on prophecies concerning Jesus in the Bible. Itâs important for them to understand that prophets foretold the birth of Christ many years ago in the Bible.
By reading these Scriptures daily, we can keep Christ as the center of Christmas. So during our nightly family devotional time, we will read a Scripture verse, discuss the verse, and read a story from the Gospels. My desire is to make this Christmas meaningful and centered on Christ.

This is such a nice idea. I have been doing a name of God each day, but love adding more scripture.
Thank you, Chy!
